VTM SECURES EXPANDED PDC BROADCAST RIGHTS IN MULTI-YEAR AGREEMENT
News March 20th, 2026

The Professional Darts Corporation is pleased to confirm that leading Belgian broadcaster VTM has secured an expanded package of live broadcast rights, which will see all PDC tournaments screened across its platforms in the coming years.

The new agreement builds on VTM’s successful coverage of PDC events since 2020 and will ensure that fans in Belgium can continue to enjoy extensive live coverage of the sport’s biggest tournaments.

In addition to the PDC’s Premier Events, including the World Darts Championship and Premier League and the Belgian European Tour events, VTM’s coverage will expand from 2027 to include all European Tour tournaments. Events will be broadcast live across VTM 2, VTM 4 and VTM GO, offering year-round access to the sport for Belgian audiences.

VTM has played a key role in the continued growth of darts in Belgium, with record-breaking crowds and viewing figures underlining the sport’s increasing popularity in the region.

The Belgian Darts Open in Wieze has become a standout event on the European Tour calendar, while a sold-out Premier League night at the AFAS Arena in Antwerp in February further highlighted the appetite for live darts in the region.

Darts’ leading stars, including Luke Littler and Michael van Gerwen, have praised the passionate support of Belgian crowds, helping to establish Belgium as one of the sport’s most exciting territories.

PDC Chief Executive Matt Porter said: “We’re delighted to extend and expand our partnership with VTM, who have been instrumental in the growth of darts in Belgium in recent years.

“The increased coverage across all PDC tournaments is a significant step forward and underlines both the strength of the partnership and the continued rise of the sport in the region.

“We look forward to working with VTM to further build on this momentum and bring even more top-class darts to fans in Belgium.”

VTM has also invested in the development of future talent through initiatives such as the VTM 2 Darts Academy and the VTM Next Gen Darts Academy, supporting emerging Belgian players on their pathway to the professional circuit.

A host of young players are currently competing on the Development Tour, with ambitions of following in the footsteps of Dimitri Van den Bergh and Mike De Decker, who have both won PDC Premier Events in recent years.

Attention now turns to the Lecot Belgian Darts Open, which will take place in Wieze from March 20-22, as the European Tour returns to Belgium.

Home favourite De Decker will be among the headline names bidding for glory, having reached last year’s final in a memorable clash with champion Littler.

All matches from the Belgian Darts Open will be broadcast live on VTM 2, featuring comprehensive coverage including commentary, analysis and on-site interviews.
